The Eder Park Silver Maple
was recognized by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources as the largest
tree in the state in April of 2006.
It has a height of 114 feet, a 27-foot circumference
at breast height, and a 106-foot average crown spread.
The tree is located in Elkton’s Eder
Park and is set back in a wooded area not easily accessible to curious
visitors, but a photo of the trunk is available here.
