Cecil/State Big Tree Program Update:

John went over the 2017 re-measuring list for Cecil County.

John and Dori measured several Cecil County trees last weekend.  John showed pictures of each.

John and Joli are going to measure trees on Saturday, October 8th.

John, Dori, Kathie, Joli and possibly Gabrielle will measure trees on Sunday, October 9th.

Ron will try to get permission for several trees around his area of the County.

The State Big Tree Committee was fully funded at $1500 for next year.

ENSF Arboretum/Grove Point GS Camp Projects:

Two tree id signs were received and the invoice paid for the Arboretum.

There are still several signs to be installed at the Girl Scout Camp.  The Board will need to work on getting the signs installed on the proper trees or getting the signs returned for another project.

Cecil FB Website Update:

Ron submitted the proposal below for re-formatting the website.  Boardmembers liked the proposal and should review it for additional subjects for the site.

Kathie and Michael will be having the Horticultural Symposium on Saturday at Cecil College.  Subjects will include bees and poisonous plants.  Kathie will be setting up the Forestry Board Tree ID display.

(From last month)  John and Dorothy Bennett volunteered to work on Labor Day at the State Fair.  John encouraged other members to consider doing this next year, as admission is free and a stipend is provided for lunch or dinner.

Michael recently attended several trainings including the MFA event at Edrich Lumber in Baltimore County.  He also attended the DNR and MIOSH safety training for Licensed Tree Experts.

Tom informed the Board that County DPW requested 2000 white pine seedlings again this year.  The Board voted unanimously to fund the seedlings up to $325.00.

Gabrielle informed the Board that the NRCC Committee has contracted with someone to advertise the Camp this year.
