Black Hill Ranger Station

Treasurer’s Report:

 

Current financial status was discussed.

 

 

Cecil/State Big Tree Program Update:

 

Over the weekend of October 8 – 10 the following people measured 18 trees in Cecil County:  John Bennett, Dori Murphy, Kathie Jarmon, Jolie and Ken McCathran.  John presented pictures from the State BT Program website of the trees.

 

Ron obtained 2 permission forms for trees in his area of the County.  He also attempted to get another one, but they haven’t been home or answering the door.

 

ENSF Arboretum/Grove Point GS Camp Projects:

 

Two tree id signs were installed at the arboretum. 

 

There are still several signs to be installed at the Girl Scout Camp.  John and Kathie will work on this when they get time.

 

Cecil FB Website Update:

 

Ron will try to submit and have a prototype for the next meeting.  Below is from last meeting.  Boardmembers should review below for additional subjects for the site.

New Business:

 

Kathie set up the Tree ID display at a Horticulture Club Seminar.  There were about 45 attendees.  Michael also participated.

 

John reported that the Wildlife Habitat Council submitted a grant request for Tree ID signs at the Bridgestone site in Port Deposit that is used as a public park.

 

John and Tom will be attending the State Association Meeting on Saturday, November 5th.

 

Tom passed out the new Open Meetings Act regulations that went into effect on October 1st.  The impacts on Forestry Boards will be discussed at the State Association Meeting.
