Treasurer’s Report:

Members present discussed current bank account balance and upcoming funding needs.

Natural Resources Careers Camp (NRCC) Update:

Gabrielle reported that there were some small changes to the website/application and the application should be available soon.  Planning is also ongoing on how the application process will work this year, as far as who will send out the applications to appropriate people after they are submitted.

Update on Big Tree Program:

John, Gabrielle, Dori and Kathie measured 7 trees in Cecil County on Sunday, September 7th.  John received the permission form for the Honey Locust in Calvert that Michael nominated.  It still has to have poison ivy removed.  It will probably take another day to complete the re-measurements in Cecil County.  However there are many new nominations, especially in Elk Neck State Park and Fair Hill NRMA.  Tom will try to line up some sort of vehicle access.

It was a busy month across the State for measuring.

John presented pictures of the trees measured.

Gabrielle submitted a couple trees for measuring at her new house.

Website Update:

Ron added last month’s minutes.

He also added the NRCC pictures from last meeting.  Everyone liked the updated NRCC section on the website.

New Business:

Ron reported that there were only a few good acorns from his Wye Oak “child” tree this year.

Tom ordered 2500 White Pine seedlings for giveaway again this year.  The cost will be $350.00.

Let the Board know if you will be attending the State Association Meeting.  Tom can take 3 people.  Also Harford County usually has several people attending and probably can take someone, if there are more than three.
