New Business:
Kathie reported:
Hope everyone got through the storm okay yesterday.
We lost one sickly spruce in the back and we lost another limb off the champion
oak. Lots of minor debris in the yard, a flooded
basement, and no power for the near future apparently. But all
very minor compared to the damage in
It has been our month for tree issues. The champion
had also dropped a large branch on the road at night a couple of weeks
ago; that one hit the power wires on the way down, causing quite an explosive
sound/light. The county cleaned it up. Just the week prior to that,
we lost a very sizable branch out of the oak in the backyard; Michael came
right out and took care of it right away for us. His guys did a great
job. It was way too much of a hazard for Jim to tackle.
Dori
reported:
We lost only
3 trees here. A nice sized Southern Red Oak fell onto a nice sized Chestnut Oak
and they both came to rest on a small Black Gum. Location was between our
driveway and our neighbors driveway. Nothing got
damaged! Amazing! Lots of clean up and cutting for a cooler ,
less humid weekend. Kathie and John. Do you
remember the large white oak we measured before the ENSF Arboretum was built?
It was uprooted in the storm. I’m sure we will hear of more tree losses,
unfortunately. Hope all is well with everyone.
Gabrielle
reported:
We lost no
trees. Probably because we had Michael's crew remove several trees that were in
bad shape. Especially the one that broke off about 30 feet
from the ground and came to rest in the one next to it.
We did have some small damage in the garden.
Some corn and sunflowers broke. We were VERY lucky.
